On Ukraine's Independence Day, the European Commission approved €6.1 billion to reinforce Ukraine's air and missile defence, part of the EU's €90 billion loan programme for missiles, ammunition and radars, as European leaders met in Kyiv for a “Coalition of the Willing” session to coordinate further support ahead of winter. The same week, two new grant tracks opened on the Ukraine-EU defence-tech side, one of them the first call open jointly to companies from Ukraine and an EU member state.
